DocuSign : Charles Schwab Sub-Account

DocuSign : Charles Schwab Sub-Account

Overview:

The Charles Schwab Sub-Account in DocuSign is used for Schwab paperwork. Schwab must be added as the last recipient in the DocuSign envelope with the following information:

  1. Name: Charles Schwab
  2. Email: advisor-docusign-cc@schwab.com
  3. Role: Receives a Copy
  4. Clients must use SMS verification when signing
Schwab is the only custodian that requires SMS Verification. If you are sending a client Schwab paperwork and Mutual paperwork in one DocuSign envelope, Mutual will accept the "Mutual Paperwork" with SMS Verification. If you are only sending a client Mutual paperwork, you must use the Main DocuSign sub-account and use KBA for verifying the client's identity.

Clients who sign paperwork in this sub-account must be verified with SMS Verification. An Advisor can also include Mutual Paperwork with the Schwab documents as well. If you choose to do this, make sure Schwab does not receive copies of the Mutual Paperwork by using the Document Visibility feature.

Warning: Schwab will reject the entire DocuSign envelope, meaning the client will need to re-sign, if you 1) include Schwab forms that are not eligible to be signed via our DIY DocuSign tool or 2) forget to mark non-Schwab forms as not visible in the Document Visibility tool. If you are unsure if a form is eligible/ineligible, please check with Schwab or the Advisory Services team before sending. If you are unfamiliar with the Document Visibility tool, please refer to the KB article with step by step instructions or contact a member of the Advisory Services team.

Important Notes: Advisory Services will automatically receive a copy of all paperwork submitted through this sub-account. If a client requests that they would like you to change the number used for SMS Verification, all you need to do is press the "Correct" button when you select the envelope, change the number, and press Resend.

Steps:

1. Click your initials/profile photo at the top right corner and select "Switch Account"

2. Select the account titled "Mutual Advisors LLC - Charles Schwab Sub Account"

3. To verify if you are in the correct sub-account, you will see "Charles Schwab" at the top right corner next to your initials/profile photo

4. Once the envelope is created, use the fields below to add recipients. Make sure that Schwab is always listed as the final recipient and that their role is set to "Receives a Copy" (not "Needs to Sign").

o   Schwab requires that you use SMS Verification for clients who are signing paperwork
o   If an Advisor needs to sign Mutual Paperwork that you included, their role needs to be BEFORE Schwabs and DOCUMENT VISIBILTY needs to be enabled (Schwab only wants Schwab paperwork)
o   (reminder: Advisory Services will automatically receive a copy of all paperwork submitted through this sub-account)
