LINKING YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA TO SMARSH FOR ARCHIVING

Please use the instructions below to enable archiving from the Social Media disclosure form you completed with your New Hire kit. If there are any sites missing, please notify Mutual Registrations immediately through Mutual’s Client Portal to get them added.

  1. Click on each NETWORK ICON/LINK separately to begin the activation process (do not click on the Activate button). a. The links in the email are unique to your user account, please do not forward or share with anyone.
  2. A web browser window will open to the specific network clicked. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to do so.
  3. Click to allow Smarsh to archive your social media activity for that network. a. The button is slightly different from network to network – for example, for LinkedIn, click Allow Access; for Facebook, click Okay.
  4. The next page will display all accounts for which you are an administrator.
    1. If the page that needs to be archived is your individual profile or is a Company or Fan page that represents you, choose Archive as User from the drop down for that account.
    2. If the page that needs to be archived is a Company or Fan page that represents an organization, select Archive as Company from the drop down for that account. This option is only available if you have been granted this permission.
  5. Click Approve.
  6. The message “Profile successfully authorized” will appear.
  7. Repeat for each network link.

IMPORTANT LINKEDIN INSTRUCTIONS

Please note that RECOMMENDATIONS and ENDORSEMENTS are considered testimonials and are therefore not allowed to be actively displayed on your LinkedIn profile(s). Below are the instructions for hiding or turning off these features.

LINKEDIN RECOMMENDATIONS

To hide recommendations, you’ve received:

  1. Click the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click “View Profile”.
  3. Scroll to the “Recommendations” section and click the Edit icon in the top right corner.
  4. On the “Received” tab, locate the recommendation you want to hide.
  5. Switch the toggle to “Hide”.
  6. Click “Save”.

To hide recommendations, you’ve sent:

  1. Click the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click “View Profile”.
  3. Scroll to the “Recommendations” section and click the Edit icon in the top right corner.
  4. On the “Sent” tab, locate the recommendation you want to hide.
  5. Switch the toggle to “Hide”.
  6. Click “Save”.

LINKEDIN ENDORSEMENTS

To opt out of receiving endorsements:

  1. Click the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click on “View Profile”.
  3. Scroll down to the “Featured Skills & Endorsements” section and click the Edit icon.
  4. Click “Adjust Endorsement Settings” and toggle to “No” next to “I want to be endorsed”.
  5. Click the X in the right corner to Save.
