Overview:
The RMD Dashboard is an Orion App that automatically displays the Required Minimum Distributions for qualified accounts feeding into Orion.
Common RMD Dashboard Questions:
Why are accounts not showing up on the RMD Dashboard?
- The account type is not tagged as a qualified account at the registration level. (OR)
- The DOB is incorrect or missing at the account registration level.
The RMD Dashboard only lists accounts that are tagged with an appropriate qualified account type. It is common for accounts to feed into Orion with the incorrect account type. If this happens, the account type needs to be updated for the account to show up on the RMD Dashboard. This commonly happens with annuities. If an account is a qualified annuity, the account type would need to be changed from Annuity to Qualified Annuity.
Account types that will show up in the RMD Dashboard:
Why is there a red status icon on the account?
- A red status icon means the systematics are not set up for the account. The RMD amount will still be calculated, but Orion will not display if the account is on-track to meet the RMD, off-track, or if the RMD has been satisfied.
Why is the RMD is not being calculated for an Inherited IRA?
- For inherited IRA's the decedent's Date of Death must be listed in the account registration for the RMD to be calculated.
