American Funds F2 Share

American Funds F2 Share

What are American Funds F2 Shares?

American Funds F2 shares offer a direct at fund investment option for retail accounts.  They have no 12b-1 fees and include an optional fee-debiting service.

For more information, see the American Fund F-2 shares page here.

What Do I Need to Get Started?

You will need an American Funds Branch Code and Rep Code, this can be obtained by contacting American Funds directly at 1-800-421-5450.  You may need to provide Mutual's Dealer Number (8005553), your FINRA CRD, and other basic information such as your DOB, SSN, etc.  Once you have obtained your branch code and rep code, please provide this to Advisory Services so that we may update our records.

What Paperwork is Needed?

You will need to help your client complete an F-2 Share Account Application which can be found here.  If there are multiple children in the household you wish to open F-2 Share accounts for, you can complete the multiple beneficiaries version of the application, found here

If you are transferring a 529 from another investment company you will also need an American Funds Rollover/Transfer form (here) signed by your client.  If the assets to be transferred are more than $100k you will need to have this form Medallion Signature Guaranteed.

Additionally, if not already on file with Mutual, we will need a Client Profile (CP) and an American Funds F2 Advisory Services Agreement (American Funds IAA) - see attachment below.

In Summary,
  1. F-2 Share Account Application
  2. American Funds Rollover/Transfer form (if transferring)
  3. Client Profile (if not already on file)
